A review of T.C. Boyle’s forthcoming book about Frank Lloyd Wright made the cover of the Times Book Review this weekend. Although the last thing in the World I need is more books, I love T.C. Boyle’s fictionalization stories about famous people. In his collection Stories, which I strongly recommend picking up, he tells stories about Jack Kerouac and Robert Johnson that are hilarious and heart-breaking respectively. His fictionalization of the Kinsey experiments, The Inner Circle, was phenomenal. The dude can write. His new book, The Women, is a fictionalization of Wright’s life told through the many women who played major roles in it. It sounds excellent, and I might just have to pick it up, even over the objections of my sponsor.
